- Transcript Hello. This is Congressman Brendan Boyle. I'm calling to invite you to join me for a telephone town hall meeting that is happening right now. Please just stay on the line and you, along with hundreds of others from across our congressional district, will be instantly connected with me this evening. We'll be discussing a variety of issues impacting our neighborhoods, and this is your opportunity to ask me questions about the issues faced facing our city and our nation. So, again, just please stay on the line and you'll be connected to listen to our live telephone town hall. And if you can't join the call this evening, feel free to call my office anytime. 215-335-3355. Thank you. If you'd like to opt out of future calls, please call 802 345952. Thank you. Please hold while we connect you to your access live event. This access live event is currently in progress. Please note that this call may be monitored, recorded, or rebroadcast. I will turn it back over to you, Courtney, and look forward to speaking with everyone for about the next hour or so. Well, thank you, Congressman Boyle. For those folks just joining us, if you'd like to ask the congressman a question, press star three. Again, it's very simple to ask a question this evening, just press, and then press star six. If you have a specific issue or question you'd like to speak privately about with a member of our district staff. Again, press star three to ask a question. And Congressman, our first question comes from Christopher in Bridesburg, and Christopher says that he's on Social Security and wants to make sure his payments aren't disrupted. Are we going to have a government shutdown? Well, the good news is that we will not have a government shutdown at least through the end of the year and into January, so we don't have to worry about any government agencies shutting down, especially at the time of the holidays. Last Tuesday, I voted alongside 209 of my Democratic colleagues, as well as some of my Republican colleagues, to make sure that we avoided a government shutdown. The new date, essentially, is January 19 for some federal agencies, such as the Department of Transportation, HUD, Energy and Veterans Affairs, and then February 2 for others. This is not a good way, though, to ensure that we run a government smoothly and properly. These constant threats of a government shutdown serve absolutely no one and harm our economy. But I do want to remind people of what.

Just last week, 8,278 people got Nomorobo protection!

Has worked great for me. A few calls slip thru occasionally. And some are with my name, number

It's been great! Very few have gotten through. Fell off a stool to answer the phone before I signed up. It was a nuisance call of course. Luckily, I only sprained my thumb. Thank you!

I love it! I don't have to stop what I'm doing or get up from my chair when eating. This is fabulous and I just sent around your email to friends and family. If they are as smart as I think they are they will be signing up shortly.

I love NOMOROBO!! I hear and see the calls coming in and in an instant the calls are blocked and I'm not bothered. I'm signed up for all the DO NOT's and NOMOROBO added more peace to my life. Thanks so much!!

Nomorobo is amazing! It saves me a great deal of aggravation by dramatically minimizing the non-stop ringing of robo-calls. Thank you for such a great tool!

It's great. It eliminates nearly all of the nuisance calls every day. Wait for the second ring before picking up. If you don't get the second ring you know the call was eliminated. A beautiful service with no catches.
