I'm conducting a live telephone town hall right now focused on my legislative priorities this Congress, including restoring fiscal sanity, investing in safety and security, and unleashing economic prosperity for every American. Please note that this call may be monitored, recorded or rebroadcast something and we have to change course in order to make sure that we don't bankrupt the country, to make sure that our sons and daughters in uniform who have the toughest job in this great land of ours to protect us and to be in harm's way in doing so, we need to make sure they have the tools and resources to be successful. If that means we have to take unilateral sort of unified Republican action, we're going to do that. I'm leading the most consequential legislative vehicle called budget reconciliation, which will have the preponderance of the America first agenda. We'll have locking in low taxes. There's a Range act component, reining in the regulatory state that is causing a part of the sluggish economy with $2 trillion in rules and regs over the last several years. And then, of course, we bend the curve on mandatory spending. $1.5 trillion is the target in our budget resolution. As budget chairman, I can tell you we are $36 trillion in debt. And as a percentage of our economy, we are more indebted than we were when we were in a world war. Our deficits are $2 trillion today. They'll be double that in 10 years. And the interest that we spend.
